Overall, the gun was still solid and functioned well so along with refinishing the stock & forearm, we planned a careful polishing & bluing to bring the finish of the steel back.

Here's the finished project, ready for some plinking on the back 40. With some careful handling and regular cleanlng it should still be in fine shape when it's ready to be handed down to the next generation.
